Dawaco Ecologie brings sampling-plan management, biology, chemistry, AquoKit, validation and reporting together in one application. You manage the ecological and chemical status of your waters in one place, and report for the Water Framework Directive from the same data you work with every day.
One application for the whole ecology workflow
From the sampling plan to the report, every step happens in the same application. No separate spreadsheets per discipline, no data shuttled back and forth between programs.

Sampling-plan management
Record monitoring points, custom fields and sampling schemes. The plan defines what is measured where and when, and is the starting point for scheduling and checking.

Biology
Store biological data with the relations between monitoring point, sample, method and taxon. Follow index values and taxon counts per monitoring point over the years.

Chemistry
Store, import, validate and display physico-chemical water quality, with your own settings for parameters and classifications.

AquoKit
Process ecological and chemical data together, with extensive import and export options and detailed settings per characteristic.

Check biological and chemical data before it reaches an assessment or a report. Anomalies stand out while you work, not only when you report.

Compose reports from the data in Dawaco Ecologie, with flexible templates and export options, including for the obligations of the European Water Framework Directive.

A smart import module for the TWN list
The TWN list (Taxa Waterbeheer Nederland) is the shared taxon list of Dutch water management, and it is updated regularly. Since March 2026, Dawaco Ecologie processes such an update with a dedicated import module.
The result: you work with the latest TWN list, without manual work, and you stay in control of what changes in your data. We are happy to show you how that works in practice in a demo.
It is one of the concrete steps we take to keep developing Dawaco Ecologie. While we build a new version of our groundwater software with Dawaco Phrea™, ecology remains a product we invest in.

Groundwater: Dawaco Phrea™
Phrea is the new version of Dawaco: one system for your entire groundwater monitoring network, from well to the Dutch subsurface registry (BRO). Collect logger data, validate while keeping the raw measurement, and deliver to the BRO and back. GMW and GLD as standard; GMN, GAR and FRD as an add-on module. Available from October 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Is Dawaco Ecologie part of Dawaco Phrea™?
No. Dawaco Ecologie is a separate product for ecological and chemical data on surface water. Phrea is the new version of our groundwater software and succeeds Dawaco GW, Datalab and BROLab. Both products come from Dawaco, with the same helpdesk.
What data do you manage in Dawaco Ecologie?
Sampling plans with monitoring points and sampling schemes, biological data, physico-chemical water quality and the data you process through AquoKit. Validation and reporting work on that same data.
Does Dawaco Ecologie help with Water Framework Directive reporting?
Yes. You compose reports from the data in Dawaco Ecologie, with templates and export options for the obligations of the European Water Framework Directive.
How do I process a new version of the TWN list?
