We take the work off your hands, from switching systems to the registry

Software alone does not discharge your duty to deliver to the Dutch Key Register of the Subsurface (BRO). That is why Dawaco also does the work around it: moving you to a new system, delivering to the BRO and, if you want, running your entire monitoring network, from the logger in the field to the document in the registry.

In the BRO chain since 2019Software and service from one partner

Four ways we take the work over

You decide what you do yourself and what you leave to us. Software and service come from the same partner, with one point of contact from measurement to BRO.

  • Switching with proof

A trial migration with a comparison report as proof first, then one planned cutover.

    How the switch works
  • BRO delivery service

Analysis, a step-by-step plan and delivery with a final check, for municipalities, provinces, water boards and drinking-water companies.

    About the BRO delivery service
  • Network management, field to registry

Logger installation and read-out, validation and delivery, fully managed for you.

    About network management
  • Implementation, training and helpdesk

A fixed five-step method, followed by a helpdesk and customer service for your questions.

    About implementation and support

Some functions are available as an add-on module.

§ SwitchingDawaco GW · Datalab · BROLab

Switching with proof, not on trust

Dawaco Phrea™, the new version of Dawaco, succeeds Dawaco GW, Datalab and BROLab and is available from October 2026. The switch is an automated migration you can check before it happens.

  1. StepTrial migrationYour own data, migrated for review
  2. StepComparison reportProof of what came across, reviewed by you
  3. StepOne planned cutoverOn a date we agree together

When you change systems, there is one thing you need to be certain of: that nothing has been lost. So every migration starts with a trial run on your own database. Counted first, compared after: the comparison report shows what came across, and what did not and why, so you do not have to take anything on trust: you can check it yourself.

Only when you are satisfied does the one planned cutover follow. No two systems keep running side by side and drifting apart. You carry on with the same team and the same support.

Data from other sources, such as spreadsheets and export files, you bring in yourself: you import any supplier file safely, and undo it if you need to.

Everything about moving to Phrea

Not a promise but proof: you see what came across before you switch.
§ BRO delivery serviceGMW · GLD · GMN · GAR · FRD

BRO delivery service: your reporting duty, handled

For municipalities, provinces, water boards and drinking-water companies that are data holders under the BRO and do not want to, or cannot, deliver themselves.

  1. Analysis

What has to go to the BRO?

We map which wells, tubes and series fall under your delivery duty, what is already registered and where the gaps are.

  2. Plan

    A plan you can follow

You receive a concrete step-by-step plan with order and timing, matched to your organisation.

  3. Delivery

    Delivered, then checked

We carry out the delivery and check afterwards that everything is correctly in the registry.

In Dawaco Phrea™ your own database is the source and the BRO is an output. Your well history reaches the BRO the way the BRO expects it, and everything is checked before it leaves. What fails the check does not leave the building.

Delivery is not where it ends. You never have to keep track yourself of what changed after delivery, and you compare your records with the BRO to decide what is right. Registry and database stay in step, years later too. The entire BRO delivery cycle in Phrea, from registration and deliveries to corrections and additions, has been proven in practice with real customer data.

In Phrea, GMW and GLD are standard; GMN, GAR and FRD are available as an add-on module.

8 passed · 4 held back. Checked before it leaves: what fails the check does not leave the building.

The BRO chain in Phrea

In the BRO chain since 2019

In 2019 our team, then still working as Waterlabs, joined the BRO implementation team. Since then we have helped more than 100 data holders (bronhouders) with their BRO deliveries. The story below comes from our BRO work before Dawaco Phrea.

of domain knowledge in groundwater software, since the first Dawaco in the 1990s

In practice · Provincie Fryslân

The Province of Fryslân started a BRO pilot in 2019. First the wells (GMW) were delivered, then the corrections, then the groundwater levels (GLD). In all, more than 180,000 messages went to the national registry, and almost the province's complete history is now in the BRO.

This story dates from before Dawaco Phrea™.

“The pilot phase was long and at times very intensive, but I am so glad we chose this route!”

Johan Mulder, BRO coordinator, Provincie Fryslân, on the BRO pilot from 2019 (translated from Dutch)
§ Network managementFrom field to registry

Fully managed monitoring networks, from field to registry

We also take on the fieldwork. You stay in control; we make sure the measurement travels from the logger all the way into the BRO.

A monitoring network needs attention in three places at once: in the field, at the desk and towards the registry. We cover the whole chain:

  • Installation and read-out of dataloggers in your observation wells.
  • Validation of the measured series.
  • Delivery to the BRO of the validated groundwater levels.

If you wish, we supply the hardware too, through agreements with several hardware suppliers.

Want to take over some or all of the work later? In Phrea you follow for yourself how your measurements travel from logger to BRO. Your measurements travel from the logger to the BRO with no manual work in between: on time, and final after your validation. Your measurement stays your measurement: every correction with a reason, always reversible.

From logger to registry without manual work: provisional first, final after your validation.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about our services

Do the old and new systems run side by side for a while?

No. We first run a trial migration, with a comparison report that shows what came across, and what did not and why. Then one planned cutover follows. That way you never end up with two versions of your data.

Who is the BRO delivery service for?

For municipalities, provinces, water boards and drinking-water companies with a BRO delivery duty. We start with an analysis, you receive a step-by-step plan and we carry out the delivery, with a final check.

What exactly does ‘from field to registry’ mean?

That we cover the whole chain: installation and read-out of the dataloggers, validation of the series and delivery to the BRO.

When is Phrea available?

Phrea is available from October 2026. It succeeds Dawaco GW, Datalab and BROLab.
